Nasreddin Hodja Goes to the Theatre is an Erasmus+ training course in Oradea, Romania, focused on theatre and storytelling methods for youth empowerment and inclusion. The project helps youth workers explore creative, open and adaptive methods that can support young people’s personal growth, participation and inclusion in local youth work.
About the project
Theatre and storytelling are powerful tools for youth empowerment and inclusion. This training course introduces youth workers to theatre-based and storytelling methods that are open, creative and adaptive. Participants will explore how these methods can support young people’s personal growth, participation and inclusion.
What participants will do
During the training course, participants will take part in practical sessions, work in small groups, design and test theatre/storytelling activities, receive peer feedback and reflect on how these methods can be used in their local youth work.
- Learn basic theatre and storytelling methods for youth work.
- Design and test creative activities in small groups.
- Receive peer feedback on session plans and methods.
- Explore how creative methods can support inclusion and participation.
- Contribute to dissemination activities after returning home.
Participant profile
Youth workers from Türkiye with little to zero experience in theatre and storytelling methods are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be motivated to learn, open to creative methods, ready to participate actively in all sessions and willing to share and apply the methods after the project.
Follow-up and dissemination
Participants are expected to contribute to post-project dissemination activities, share the methods they learned, and apply theatre and storytelling approaches in their local youth work after the training course.
Travel and reimbursement
The training course takes place in Oradea, Romania. Participants should arrive on 10 October before 19:00 and depart on 18 October after 10:00. Travel reimbursement for Türkiye is based on actual eligible costs up to 309 EUR. Reimbursement requires all travel documents and dissemination proofs.
Accommodation and meals
Participants will stay at ZEN Hostel / Posticum Guesthouse in Oradea. The venue provides shared rooms and bathrooms, activity spaces and meals served buffet-style. Dietary needs should be communicated in advance.
Important requirement
Green passport or valid Schengen visa is required. Participants must already have the right to enter the Schengen area.
Group and partners
The training course will bring together 24 participants from Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Spain, Türkiye and Ukraine, with 4 participants from each country.
