About the opportunity.
A youth exchange bringing together young people from Europe, the Middle East, and the South Mediterranean to explore culture, nature, sustainability, and intercultural understanding through shared experiences in Croatia.
Objectives of the youth exchange
- Explore the connection between nature, culture, and sustainable practices in different countries.
- Support mutual understanding and help break stereotypes between European and Arab countries.
- Discover the cultural and natural heritage of Croatia and the local area of Đurđevac.
- Raise awareness about the healing and calming side of nature through practical techniques.
- Learn about deserts, life in desert regions, and different perspectives on sustainability.
- Create a space for cultural exchange, acceptance, and intercultural dialogue.
How the project is implemented
The exchange uses non-formal learning, intercultural exchange, and nature-based activities.
- Workshops on culture, sustainability, natural heritage, and desert life.
- Outdoor learning connected to Đurđevački pijesci, Borik Forest, and the Drava River.
- Team-led workshops designed and implemented by participants.
- An intercultural evening, group work, reflection sessions, and shared experiences.

- Participants ready to support preparation tasks and follow-up activities after returning.
Practical information
- Accommodation and food are provided during the youth exchange.
- Travel costs are reimbursed after the exchange up to the applicable country limit.
- The green-travel limit applies only to eligible sustainable transport such as buses or trains, not air travel.

Participant type: Youth participants and a group leader
Young people interested in culture, nature, sustainability, and intercultural learning who are ready to participate actively before, during, and after the exchange.
Travel document requirement: A green passport or valid Schengen visa was required for applicants from Türkiye.
Travel reimbursement: Up to €309 from Türkiye, or up to €417 for eligible green travel.
Accommodation and food: Accommodation and food are provided during the youth exchange.
